Catarina Sobral won the 5th International Award for Illustration Bologna Children’s Book Fair with “O meu avô ”.
The jury choose unanimously the winner saying and empathises “the references to references to 1950s graphic traditions interpreted with a contemporary slant and essential geometrical figures that combined to produce a highly effective visual composition. “ has her great triumphs.
This award is one of the most recognized and fairs in the Children’s Book area.
Sponsored by Fundación SM publisher, the prize worth 21,000 euros, and is for young illustrators that have been selected for the annual exhibition of illustration Children’s Book Fair, which is taking place in Bologna, Italy.
Catarina Sobral was born in Coimbra and was select to exhibit the illustrated album of “O meu avô”, edited by Orfeu Negro.
